Speakers

Prof. Stephen Selby

Professor Stephen Selby is Adjunct Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Guangzhou Ji Nan University and Lin Yi University, Shandong. He is also currently Director of IC Enterprise Management Company, Ltd.  Professor Selby served in the Hong Kong Government from 1978 to 2011. During his Government service, he worked on district administration, broadcasting, infrastructure project, finance, and taxation policy. Between 1994 and 2011, he served as Director of Intellectual Property working on protection of patents, copyright, trademarks and registered designs. From 2007 to 2010 he served as the Chair of the Intellectual Property Experts’ Group of APEC. Upon his retirement from Government service in 2011, he was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star.  Professor Selby was educated at Edinburgh University where is obtained a Master’s Degree (Hons.) in Chinese Language and Literature.

Course Prerequisite

Applicants must have completed “IP Manager Training Programme” or “IP101 IP Basics”

Course Structure

Course consists of 2 lectures, 2.5 hours per lecture, total 5 hours

Course Format

Cantonese, supplemented with English terms

Award

Participants will receive a certificate awarded by the organiser upon completion of the entire course (2 lectures)

Fee

Free for members of "IP Manager Scheme"; $100 for non-members

This training course is registered as a CPD course of the Hong Kong Mediation Centre (2.5 points per lecture; 5 points in total).
