The “Mediate First” Pledge 2019

Organised by the Department of Justice (DoJ) and supported by the Intellectual Property Department, The “Mediate First” Pledge 2019 will be held on 24 May. The full-day event includes a mediation Forum and a “Mediate First” Pledge Reception. Highlights of the Reception include the ceremonial signing of the “Mediate First” Pledge by new pledgees and the Star Logo Award presentation ceremony.

The “Mediate First” Pledge was launched by DoJ, over 480 organisations have signed the Pledge by now. Organisations signing the 'Mediate First' Pledge agree to first explore the use of mediation to resolve disputes arising in the course of their operation, before pursuing other dispute resolution processes or court litigation. It is a non-legally binding commitment by pledgees to use mediation first to resolve disputes before resorting to other means of dispute resolution, such as court litigation.
