In the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Hong Kong's ranking rose by three places to 15th globally among 139 economies, and remained 5th in Asia. Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster ranks first among the world's top 100 innovation clusters.
